It tells the story of Cate, whose personal life is in crisis. Recently divorced and having just lost her job, Cate decides to take her daughter, who believes in mythical creatures, and her mother who has Alzheimer's, on a journey to interesting countries around the world. Along the way, Cate discovers her past and finds herself, through her adventures and her mother's old recipe books.
AUTHOR COMMENT:
A few years ago my mother left her broken body and a mind controlled by Alzheimer's, and crossed to the place she believed my father was waiting for her. This book is my journey to remember, to chronicle the beautiful and heartbreaking that was her life, and to share her joy in baking for the people she loved. I hope you will join me on this journey...perhaps to gain a deeper understanding of Alzheimer's, to get a couple of awesome recipes, or maybe just to get to know this woman I loved and called 'Mom'.

The Eternal Wait is an important story in current society, grappling with complex issues through the main protagonists, a female journalist, Alexa and a Catholic Priest, Daniel. The book traces their parallel lives and their relationships, at the same time as it delves into the concept of Truth, playing itself out through the conflict of the human spirit. It also speaks of the spirit that is alive in the former Yugoslavia and South Africa - and in the souls of the people who are rooted in the soil of these lands.
